Thailand: Merchandise trade deficit widens in April
Latest reading: In April, the trade balance was USD -6.8 billion, following a USD -0.1 billion reading in the prior month. Over the last 12 months, the trade balance summed to USD +8.4 billion.
Merchandise exports rose 23.5% in annual terms in April, following a 19.1% rise in the prior month and marking the strongest since December 2021. Meanwhile, merchandise imports rose 44.0% in annual terms in April, following 37.0% growth in the previous month and clocking the strongest since August 2021.
