Thailand: Inflation decreases in January
Inflation came in at 5.0% in January, which was down from Decembers 5.9%. The deceleration was driven by softer increases in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, transportation and fuels.
The trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 6.2% in January (December: 6.1%). Meanwhile, core inflation inched down to 3.0% from Decembers 3.2%.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.30% from the previous month in January, swinging from December’s 0.06% drop.
