Thailand: Manufacturing production rebounds in July
Latest reading: Manufacturing production rose 0.5% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 2.4% drop in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in July improved for automotive vehicles (+0.9% on a year-on-year basis vs -11.5% in June), computer and electronic products (+8.4% vs +4.2% in June) and refined petroleum products (+9.1% vs -6.1% in June). In contrast, readings worsened for food products (+1.5% vs +2.0% in June) and chemical products (-4.8% vs -4.4% in June).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, manufacturing output was up 0.8% in July, following a 1.7% drop in the prior month.
