Taiwan: Inflation increases in November to multi-year high
Consumer prices rose 0.24% in November over the previous month, broadly stable from the 0.29% rise recorded in October. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food increased at a faster rate in November, and prices for housing rebounded. Meanwhile, transportation price growth was broadly unchanged.
Inflation came in at 2.8% in November, up from October’s 2.5%. November’s result marked the highest inflation rate since February 2013. Annual average inflation rose to 1.8% in November (October: 1.5%).
