Taiwan: Inflation drops to lowest level since June 2023 in January
Inflation came in at 1.8% in January, down from December’s 2.7%. January’s reading marked the lowest inflation rate since June 2023. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and transport rose at a slower pace in January.
Annual average inflation edged down to 2.4% in January (December: 2.5%).
Lastly, consumer prices recorded zero growth in January over the previous month, broadly stable from the 0.04% fall seen in December. January’s figure was the highest reading since October 2023.
