Taiwan: Industrial production continues to boom in July
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 25.6% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 22.6% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in July improved for manufacturing (+26.9% on a year-on-year basis vs +24.0% in June), electricity and gas supply (+5.8% vs +1.5% in June) and mining and quarrying (+0.8% vs -10.8% in June). In contrast, the reading for water supply softened in July (-1.3% vs +1.5% in June).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production was up 4.2% in July, following a 2.4% increase in the prior month.
