Taiwan: Industrial production gains steam in June
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 23.0% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 11.9% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in June improved for manufacturing (+24.3% on a year-on-year basis vs +12.7% in May), electricity and gas supply (+1.9% vs +0.1% in May) and mining and quarrying (-8.5% vs -8.9% in May). In contrast, the reading for water supply softened in June (+1.4% vs +3.4% in May).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production was up 2.7% in June, following a 1.6% increase in the prior month.
