Taiwan: Industrial output records quickest growth since March in September
Industrial output increased 10.7% in year-on-year terms in September, which was above August’s 3.6% increase. The result marked the strongest expansion since March. The acceleration largely reflected an upturn in manufacturing, and electricity and gas supply output.
On a monthly basis, industrial output grew 2.2% in seasonally-adjusted terms in September, which was below August’s 2.6% expansion. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 5.5% in September (August: +4.5%), signaling an improving trend in the industrial sector.
