Switzerland: KOF Economic Barometer records worst reading since February but remains elevated in October
The KOF Economic Barometer came in at 110.7 in October, down from September’s 111.0. October’s result marked the worst reading since February. Consequently, the index remained entrenched above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a still very positive near-term outlook for the Swiss economy amid the successful containment of the Covid-19 pandemic at home.
Signs regarding the food and beverage industry improved in October, while indicators relating to other services, manufacturing, foreign demand and finance deteriorated.
