Switzerland: KOF Economic Barometer picks up in March
The KOF Economic Barometer jumped to 117.8 in March from February’s 102.6. March’s result marked the strongest reading since June 2010. Consequently, the index moved further above the long-term average of 100, signaling a strong recovery in the coming months.
The improvement was largely due to a better outlook for the manufacturing sector, while indicators for domestic and foreign demand also recorded improvements. That said, most of the data for the survey was collected before the Federal Government delayed the second phase of lockdown easing on 19 March.
