Sweden: Inflation jumps to highest level in over three decades in March
Consumer prices with a fixed interest rate increased 1.73% over the previous month in March, accelerating from the 0.85% increase logged in February. March’s uptick was the highest reading since January 1993. The pick-up was broad-based, with greater price pressures recorded for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, transportation, and food and non-alcoholic beverages.
CPIF inflation in annual terms came in at 6.1% in March, which was up from February’s 4.5%. March’s result was the highest inflation rate since December 1991. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation rose to 3.2% in March (February: 2.8%).
