Sweden: Economic sentiment increases in May
Latest reading: Economic sentiment increased to 99.9 in May, following April’s 98.8. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In May, sentiment improved in the industrial sector (+0.4 vs -0.7 in April), the services sector (+23.0 vs +22.9 in April), the retail sector (+25.9 vs +23.5 in April) and among consumers (-5.7 vs -7.3 in April). In contrast, sentiment darkened in the construction sector (-14.2 vs -5.8 in April).
