Spain: Harmonized inflation falls in March
Harmonized inflation fell to 3.1% in March, following February’s 6.0%. Falling transport prices and softer price pressures for restaurants and hotels were mainly behind the reading.
The trend declined, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 7.6% in March (February: 8.1%). Moreover, core inflation dipped to 7.5% in March from 7.6% in February, which had marked the highest reading since 1992.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 1.05% in March over the previous month, following the 0.94% increase seen in February.
