Spain: Current account surplus widens in October
The current account recorded a EUR 2.7 billion surplus in October, improving from the EUR 0.7 billion surplus clocked in September (October 2021: EUR 3.5 billion surplus). Meanwhile, the 12-month trailing current account surplus deteriorated, coming in at EUR 6.2 billion in October (September: EUR 7.0 billion surplus).
According to the Bank of Spain, Octobers result was mainly driven by a wider deficit in primary and secondary incomes as well as by a smaller trade surplus compared to the same period of 2021.
