Slovenia: Decline in industrial output softens in September
Industrial output fell 6.1% in year-on-year terms in September, which was markedly softer than August’s 12.8% decrease. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing production fell at a more moderate pace in September, and mining and quarrying output also declined at a slower, albeit still pronounced, rate. Meanwhile, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply production contracted at a quicker pace.
On a monthly basis, factory output rose 4.1% in seasonally adjusted terms in September, contrasting August’s 1.4% fall. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 5.4%, down from August’s minus 4.8% reading.
