Slovakia: Inflation falls notably in November
Consumer prices dropped 0.1% month-on-month in November, contrasting October’s 0.1% increase. According to data released by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (SOSR), the sharpest drops were recorded for transport, food and non-alcoholic beverages, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco. Price declines were, however, partly offset by higher prices for communications, and clothing and footwear. Meanwhile, inflation decelerated to a nine-month low of 2.1% in October from 2.5% in October.
The harmonized index of consumer declined 0.1% month-on-month in November, contrasting the 0.1% increase registered in October. Harmonized inflation decreased from 2.5% in October to 2.0% in November. Meanwhile, annual average harmonized inflation remained unchanged at October’s over five-year high of 2.5% in November.
