Slovakia: Inflation comes in at highest level since October 2008 in October
Consumer prices rose 0.59% in October over the previous month, slowing down from September’s 0.82% increase. The cooling of price pressures was primarily driven by a softer rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation increased to 5.1% in October, above September’s 4.6%. October’s reading represented the highest inflation rate since October 2008. Annual average inflation rose to 2.5% in October (September: 2.2%). Finally, harmonized inflation rose to 4.4% in October, from the previous month’s 4.0%.
