Slovakia: Inflation comes in at highest level since November 2012 in July
Consumer prices increased 0.50% over the previous month in July, below the 0.60% rise logged in June. July’s result marked the softest rise in prices since April. The slowdown was primarily due to a more moderate increase in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for housing and utilities as well as health moderated.
Inflation came in at 3.3% in July, up from June’s 2.9%. July’s reading marked the highest inflation rate since November 2012. Annual average inflation ticked up to 1.7% in July (June: 1.6%). Lastly, harmonized inflation rose to 2.9% in July, from June’s 2.5%.
