Slovakia: Harmonized inflation falls to over two-year low in March
Harmonized inflation eased to 2.7% in March from February’s 3.8%. March’s figure represented the lowest inflation rate since June 2021. The softer rise was primarily due to lower growth in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Moreover, prices for recreation grew at a more subdued pace.
In addition, the trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 8.2% in March (February: 9.2%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 2.3% in March, from the previous month’s 3.4%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.13% over the previous month in March, a smaller increase than February’s 0.57% increase.
