Latvia: Harmonized inflation increases in March
Harmonized inflation came in at 1.0% in March, which was up from February’s 0.6%. Looking at the details of the release, housing and utilities prices fell at a more moderate pace in March compared to the previous month, and price pressures for transportation rebounded.
The trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 4.7% in March (February: 5.9%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 0.9% in March, from the previous month’s 0.4%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 1.17% in March over the previous month, accelerating from the 0.08% rise logged in February. March’s jump was the highest reading since May 2023.
