Slovakia: Industrial output flatlined in February
Industrial output was flat year on year in February (January: +3.5% yoy). The result marked the worst reading since July 2023. The notable weakening was largely due to a deterioration in manufacturing production, which swung into contraction for the first time in seven months. Moreover, energy supply output increased at a slower annual pace compared to January.
Meanwhile, annual average of industrial production was steady coming in at January’s 2.6% in February. On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, the industrial sector expanded 0.4%, rebounding from the 2.8% contraction in the prior month.
