Slovakia: Industrial activity drops at softer pace in May
Industrial output fell 1.5% in year-on-year terms in May, which followed April’s 2.0% decline. The improvement was largely driven by a pickup in energy output, which was partly offset by activity in the manufacturing sector falling at a steeper pace.
On a monthly basis, factory output increased 2.5% in seasonally adjusted terms in May, contrasting April’s 1.3% decline. Meanwhile, the trend worsened, with the annual average variation in industrial production coming in at minus 3.8% in May, down from April’s minus 3.3%.
