Singapore: Inflation hits nine-year high in February
Consumer prices increased 0.87% in February over the previous month, picking up from the 0.03% rise recorded in January and marking the sharpest monthly increase in three months.
Inflation inched up to 4.3% in February, slightly above January’s 4.0%. February’s figure marked the highest inflation rate since February 2013. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.9% in February (January: 2.6%). Finally, core inflation rose to 4.8% in February, from the previous month’s 4.1%.
