Serbia: Inflation rises in April from March
Latest reading: Consumer prices rose 3.3% on a year-on-year basis in April, following a 2.8% rise in the prior month. April’s reading was the strongest since August 2025.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-1.1% on a year-on-year basis vs -1.2% in March), transportation (+6.3% vs +2.7% in March), housing and utilities (+9.1% vs +8.8% in March), restaurants and hotels (+7.6% vs +7.4% in March) and clothing and footwear (+1.5% vs +1.3% in March).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices were up 4.4% in annual terms in April, following a 4.2% rise in the previous month.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.79% in April on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.49% rise in the previous month.
