Serbia: Inflation falls to lowest level since November 2021 in December

Inflation dropped to 7.6% in December from November’s 8.0%. December’s result represented the lowest inflation rate since November 2021. The cooling of price pressures was largely due to a softer rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Moreover, prices for restaurants and hotels grew at a more subdued pace.

Annual average inflation fell to 12.4% in December (November: 13.0%). Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 6.5% in December, from November’s 7.0%.

Finally, consumer prices rose 0.15% over the previous month in December, moderating from the 0.49% rise recorded in November. December’s result marked the lowest reading since July 2023.
