Serbia: Inflation falls in February
Inflation dropped to 5.6% in February, following January’s 6.5%. February’s figure marked the lowest inflation rate since August 2021. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages and prices for housing and utilities increased at softer rates in February. That said, prices for transportation rose at a faster pace.
Accordingly, annual average inflation fell to 10.7% in February (January: 11.6%). Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 5.2% in February, from the previous month’s 5.9%.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.56% from the previous month in February, picking up from January’s 0.30% increase. February’s figure marked the highest reading since June 2023.
