Serbia: Economic sentiment falls in January
Economic sentiment came in at 104.4 in January, down from December’s 105.9. However, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected declining sentiment in the industrial, construction and services sectors. That said, sentiment in the retail sector strengthened in the surveyed month. Lastly, consumer confidence remained unchanged in January.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index fell in January.
