Russia: Industrial output expands at quickest pace since February 2022 in April
Industrial output expanded 5.2% compared to the same month of the previous year in April, which was above March’s 1.2% increase. The result marked the best reading since February 2022. The reading reflected a broad-based improvement, with activity in the manufacturing, mining and quarrying and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sub-sectors all improving in April.
On a monthly basis, factory output grew 1.7% in seasonally adjusted terms in April, which was better than March’s 1.3% expansion and marking the best result since December 2021. Meanwhile, the trend improved significantly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.2% in April, up from March’s minus 1.9%.
