Romania: Inflation declines to over two-year low in February
Consumer prices rose 0.3% month-on-month in February, down from January’s 0.4% climb. The largest increase was recorded for prices for food, followed by services while prices for non-food goods dipped.
Inflation slid from 3.6% in January to 3.1% in February, the lowest print since October 2017. Thus, it fell back within the Central Bank’s 1.5%–3.5% target range after hovering above it for three consecutive months. Meanwhile, annual average inflation inched down to 3.8% in February from 3.9% in the previous month.
