Romania: Industrial activity falls less in February
Industrial output decreased 4.8% in year-on-year terms in February, which was above January’s 5.8% decrease. Looking at the details of the release, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning output contracted less steeply, while mining and quarrying output rose at a stronger pace. Meanwhile, manufacturing output shrank at a sharper rate.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output fell 0.2% in February (January: +2.3% mom). Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 2.8% in February, down from January’s minus 2.5% reading.
