Romania: Economic sentiment rises in March
Economic sentiment rose to 103.7 in March from February’s 101.6. March’s result marked the best performance since November 2022. Consequently, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected stronger sentiment in the industrial and services sectors. However, confidence in the retail and construction sectors cooled in the surveyed month. Lastly, consumer confidence remained stable in March.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations improved, while the economic uncertainty index increased in March.
