Portugal: Industrial production shrinks more slowly in July
Latest reading: Industrial production fell 0.3% on a calendar- and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in July, following a 4.2% drop in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in July improved for manufacturing (-1.1% in calendar- and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs -3.6% in June), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (+2.1% vs -8.5% in June) and mining and quarrying (+11.1% vs -2.1% in June).
In calendar- and seasonally adjusted year-on-year terms, industrial production fell 1.4% in July, following a 1.1% drop in the previous month.
