Poland: Retail sales record quickest growth since April in November

December 21, 2021

Retail sales increased 21.2% year-on-year in November, which was above October’s 14.4% reading and marked the ninth consecutive month of growth. November's figure marked the best result since April. November's upturn largely reflected an upturn in textiles, clothing and footwear and furniture, radio, tv and household appliances sales.

Meanwhile, annual average retail sales growth rose to 11.0% in November (October: +8.8%), signaling an improving trend in the retail trade sector.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see private consumption growing 5.4% in 2022, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2023, the panel sees private consumption expanding 3.9%.
