Austria: Inflation decelerates in June from the prior month
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices increased 3.2% in annual terms in June, following a 3.7% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+1.1% in annual terms vs +2.1% in May), transportation (+7.5% vs +9.2% in May), housing and utilities (+2.8% vs +3.2% in May), recreation (+2.0% vs +3.2% in May) and restaurants and hotels (+3.8% vs +4.1% in May).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 3.2% in annual terms in June, following a 3.7% increase in the prior month.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices declined 0.25% in June in month-on-month terms, following a 0.09% increase in the prior month.
