Poland: Retail sales growth picks up pace in August
Retail sales rose 10.7% compared to the same month of the previous year in August, which followed July’s 8.9% increase. Looking at the details of the release, August’s pick up was broad-based, with the motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts, textiles, clothing and footwear, and furniture, radio, tv and household appliances sub-sectors all gaining steam.
Meanwhile, the trend improved sizably, with the annual average growth of retail sales coming in at an over one-year high of plus 6.7%, up from July’s 5.8%.
