Poland: Retail sales speed up in June
Latest reading: Retail sales rose 6.4% in annual terms in June, following a 3.0% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, readings in June improved for motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts (+9.6% in annual terms vs +2.1% in May), furniture, radio, TV and household appliances (+14.8% vs +4.5% in May) and food, beverages and tobacco (+1.7% vs -2.8% in May). In contrast, readings worsened for textiles, clothing and footwear (+3.3% vs +3.8% in May) and fuel (+9.0% vs +9.9% in May).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, retail sales were up 1.7% in June, following 0.4% growth in the previous month.
