Poland: Growth in retail sales moderates in December
January 26, 2018
Retail sales rose 6.0% from the same month a year earlier in December, decelerating from November’s 10-month high 10.2% increase. December’s rise was primarily driven by higher sales of textiles, clothing and footwear, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and orthopedic equipment and furniture, radio, TV and household appliances. On the other hand, sales of motor vehicles and motorcycles dropped compared to the same month of the last year.
Meanwhile, average annual growth in retail sales remained stable at November’s 8.2%, which marked the highest reading in over five years.
