Poland: Inflation rises to over one-year high in April

Consumer prices increased 0.70% in April over the previous month, following the 1.00% increase seen in March, according to a preliminary estimate. April’s reading largely reflected lower price pressures for fuels for personal transport equipment as well as lower prices for electricity gas, and other fuels compared to the previous month.

Inflation came in at 4.3% in April, following March’s 3.2%. April’s result was the highest inflation rate since March 2020. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at March’s 3.0% in April.
