Poland: Inflation hits over two-decade high in August
Consumer prices increased 0.20% in August, softening from July’s 0.40% rise, according to a flash estimate. The result was largely attributed to a slower growth in prices for fuels for personal transport equipment.
Inflation accelerated to 5.4% in August from July’s 5.0% reading, marking the highest inflation rate since June 2001. Accordingly, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 3.6% in August (July: 3.4%).
