Poland: Inflation drops to lowest level since February 2021 in February
Inflation dropped to 2.8% in February below January’s 3.7%. February’s result represented the lowest inflation rate since February 2021. The cooling of price pressures was largely due to a softer rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels grew at a more moderate pace.
Annual average inflation fell to 9.2% in February (January: 10.5%). Meanwhile, core inflation fell to 5.4% in February, from the previous month’s 6.2%.
Finally, consumer prices increased 0.30% over the previous month in February, a smaller increase than the 0.40% rise seen in January.
