Poland: Business confidence hits over year-high in April
Manufacturing-sector business confidence came in at minus 4.0 in April, up from March’s minus 6.6 and marking the best reading since March 2020. As a result, the index moved closer to, but still remained below, the 0-threshold, indicating pessimism among businesses.
April’s improvement largely reflected firms’ positive expectations of future order books. Meanwhile, their expectations of future production weakened somewhat compared to the previous month, albeit still remained positive overall, while their expectations over their future personal financial situation as well as the future general economic situation turned less negative. Moreover, firms’ assessment of the current general economic situation, order books, production and personal financial situation also improved in April.
