Peru: Business sentiment rise in July; remains in pessimistic territory
Business confidence rose to 42.9 in July having fallen to a ten-month low of 39.5 in June. As a result, the index remained below the 50-threshold, which separates pessimism from optimism among businesses, for the fourth consecutive month.
The improvement in firms’ expectations was broad-based in July, although it was still likely weighed on by uncertainty surrounding the country’s political situation. Firms’ views regarding their sector, sales, and future demand for their products all rose, although the subindex for the company’s current financial situation dropped slightly this month.
