Panama: Inflation comes in at highest level since December 2023 in February
Inflation edged up to 1.5% in February, following January’s 1.2%. February’s reading marked the highest inflation rate since December 2023. Looking at the details of the release, housing and energy prices rose at a quicker pace in February compared to the previous month, while price pressures for clothing and footwear dropped.
Annual average inflation edged down to 1.3% in February (January: 1.4%).
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.34% in February over the previous month, accelerating from the 0.25% rise recorded in January. February’s figure marked the highest reading since January 2023.
