Netherlands: Little change in consumer confidence in July; indicator remains in negative territory
Consumer confidence came in at minus 4.0 in July, down from June’s minus 3.0. As a result, the index remained below the 0-threshold separating pessimism from optimism among consumers. This was mainly driven by a reduced willingness to purchase durable goods, and consumers’ greater pessimism regarding their own financial situation. In contrast, consumers’ views on the general economy improved.
