Denmark: Consumer confidence improves in July

Consumer confidence rose to 2.6 in July from June’s 2.3. As a result, the index moved further above the 0-point threshold, indicating optimism among consumers for the third month running since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

July’s upturn was chiefly due to consumers becoming more optimistic about their financial situation today compared to a year ago, and sentiment was markedly less sour regarding the country’s current economic situation today to the previous year. Meanwhile, although sentiment slid slightly, consumers remained optimistic regarding their personal financial situation and the country’s economic conditions in the coming 12-month period compared to today.
