Netherlands: Business confidence improves in June but remains pessimistic
Business confidence came in at minus 15.1 in June, up from May’s minus 25.1. While the index remained below both the 0-threshold separating pessimism from optimism among businesses and the long-term average of 0.6 over the last 20 years, the improvement marked the strongest monthly rise in the survey’s history
The uptick was driven by improved views on output expectations and less downbeat attitudes regarding order books. On the other hand, sentiment regarding stocks of finished goods deteriorated somewhat.
