Mexico: Merchandise trade slips into deficit in July

Merchandise exports rose 43.7% in year-on-year terms in July, following a 34.5% rise in the prior month. July’s reading was the strongest since May 2021 and was driven by higher mining and non-vehicle manufactured exports. Merchandise imports were up 45.0% in year-on-year terms in July, following 28.0% growth in the previous month. July’s reading was the strongest since July 2021.
