Mexico: Consumer confidence improves but remains pessimistic in March
Consumer confidence came in at 43.9 in March, up from February’s 43.5. Despite the uptick, the index remained entrenched below the 50-threshold, indicating pessimism among consumers.
The rise came on the back of an improvement in consumers’ views of their current and future personal financial situation. In addition, sentiment regarding their willingness to make major purchases strengthened. However, consumers grew more downbeat regarding the future general economic situation.
