Malaysia: Industrial output rises at faster pace in September
Industrial output increased 1.0% year-on-year in September, following August’s 0.2% rise. September’s stronger expansion was largely attributed to faster growth in manufacturing production. That said, output in both the mining and quarrying, and electricity sectors contracted at a sharper pace than in August.
On a seasonally-adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 1.0% in September, swinging from August’s 0.6% drop. Meanwhile, the trend remained stable, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus August’s minus 3.8% in September.
