Luxembourg: Harmonized inflation returns in January
Consumer prices rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.67% over the previous month in January, accelerating from December’s 0.28% increase. January’s result marked the sharpest increase in prices since August 2020 and largely came on the back of rising prices for housing and utilities.
Inflation rose to 1.9% in January, from December’s 0.6%. Annual average inflation was unchanged at December’s 0.8% in January. Lastly, harmonized inflation returned in January, coming in at 1.1% and contrasting the previous month’s 0.3% decline in prices.
